In Term 1 you read lots of brilliant books so it would be great to hear about some of them. As your first challenge this term complete a book review to share with your class. You might like to use the template attached to help you.
If you enjoy a game of bingo then book reading bingo is the challenge for you. Read books from the grid that will give you four in a row and you can get a challenge point. Make sure your parent has signed your reading passport to say you have completed the challenge. The bingo board can be downloaded and printed from the link below.
Try these quick challenges to get you started!
You must read a different book for each one. Once you have completed the challenge then ask your parent to sign your reading challenge passport. You may want to ask a parent or friend to help you complete them. Have a go and get reading! There are many reading challenges for your child to complete throughout the year. Some challenges can be completed independently and others will require help from adults or friends. To make a start, please download and print the KS1 reading challenge passport from this blog. Once your child has started to complete challenges then you can sign them off in the reading passport. One in every six challenges is already written in their passport and they must complete this one before moving onto the next six challenges. After your child has completed the first page in their reading challenge passport and you have signed them, then they can show their class teacher who will sign the bottom of the page. Certificates and effort points can be gained for every six challenges completed. If you or your child have any ideas for future reading challenges then please let us know as we hope to add new challenges as the year progresses. Happy reading!!
